Solve the following LP problem.

Maximize profit = 9×1 + 7×2

Subject to: 2×1 + 1×2 ≤ 40

x1 + 3×2 ≤ 30

x1, x2 ≥ 0

Z = 9X1 + 7X2

After equating the constraints:

2X1 + 1X2 = 40 ———- (1)

X1 + 3X2 = 30 ————-(2)

After multiplying equation 1 by 3and subtracting it from equation 2,

6X1 – X1 = 3*40 – 30

5X1 = 90

X1 = 18

X2 = (40-36) = 4

Here, X1 and X2 are greater than 0.So constraints condition are met.

Z = 9*18 + 7*4

Z = 190

So, profit maximized is
