Differences between the values and goals of education programs and those of the families and cultures within our classrooms can vary greatly. Using the parent questionnaire on page 9 of your reading for this week, do you think that collecting this information will help you as a teacher determine if the values/goals of the program align with the programs and goals of the families? How can cultural differences affect classroom level expectations parents may have? How would you address any discrepancies in values, expectations, or practice with families?
