All objects in free fall are affected by gravity here on Earth. Objects moving in two dimensions such as a punted football are no exception. These objects are affected by gravity. Everything we throw, toss, kick, or shoot is called a projectile. These objects all take the same path as long as we ignore air resistance. This exercise lets you see what happens when you vary launch angle, launch speed, and air resistance.
