Question Description
The objectives of this lab are to introduce you to the fundamental principles of GIS. It is also intended to give you practical experience with a commonly used GIS software package (i.e., Esri’s ArcGIS). By the end of this lab, you will be able to:
- Define GIS and understand attribute data
- Perform basic data retrieval functions in GIS;
- Search and import geospatial data from open and academic sources;
- Perform a variety of queries using SQL in ArcMap;
- Process spatial data (geoprocessing) for visualization purposes;
- Produce cartographically sound maps
