Need help fixing a constraint for a DB as well as the test ofthe constraint.

Constraint I tried creating:
ALTER TABLE ORDERS add constraint check_shipping_date SHIP_DATE>= ORDER_DATE;
Need to get constraint fixed (invalid datatype) and need scriptto verify constraint works.
