Idle-stop system Modern vehicles are designed with idle-stop mechanism to make vehicles more fuel efficient and environment friendly. In the idle state, the engine is in the running mode but still the vehicle will not be moving. The gasoline engine automatically shuts off when the vehicle is in the idle-stop state. In the idle stop state the engine will be stopped and all the other functions such as lights, A/C, etc. will be operated by the battery.
