Janet Mock’s book, Redefining Realness, was one of my favorite memoirs of 2013! 🙂 In it, she narrates her experience as a Black trans girl and mahu (an indigenous Hawai’ian term reclaimed for our contemporary moment) growing up in Los Angeles and Hawai’i.
