Exempt employees are not granted the protection which is covered under FLSA and they are not entitled for overtime pay. Some of the employees or jobs are considered exempt by definition under the law, including outside sales employees and those who are working in airlines companies. But under the FLSA that employee are exempt who meets the following three tests:

His annual salary is at least $23,600.
He/she paid on a salary
