In a Business Organization, Quality control tools such as Lean Six Sigma, is an example of initiative by imitation. It suggests that the management should adopt these tools by observing how such tools have benefitted the other Organizations. The classic example of Lean Six Sigma benchmark would that be of Toyota. In the manufacturing sector, when other organizations learn from Toyota’s Lean manufacturing process and implement the same in their Organizations, then such an initiative taken by the Organization is called as ‘Initiative by Imitation’.
