What are the differences between dismissal and discharge?

Expert Answer

Dismissal is a punishment for an employee for disciplinary action. A dismissed employee can’t get employment in the same organization in the future.

Discharge is a separation of an employee with its employer with a mutual understanding after the contract period is over or at the end of the employment tenure. A discharged employee can apply for any relevant openings in future in that organization and can be considered for the same.
