With proper training the employee can work at 80% efficiency because although he knows the process hands-on, he might not be aware of the optimal way of performing the job. An optimal way is developed post a lot of experimentation and observation and the best process is chosen from the lot. This process is mentioned in a step wise manner in Standard Operating Procedure (SOP). Following an SOP will enhance the employee performance
