Due to the modernization of privacy law in America, there arelimited cases in which Social Security Number (SocSec#) can be usedto identify individuals. As a result, college databases only useSocSec# as a primary key for financial data that may have to bereported to the IRS. This has led to the use of a StudentID (agenerated key) field as the unique identifier and therefore primarykey rather than SocSec#.

1. Some DB experts do not like to use generated or surrogate keysas the primary key because they are artificial. Suggest a naturalkey that can be used to identify the student record for DB
